Pre-K Social-Emotional Learning

Pre-K Social-Emotional Learning (Pre-K SEL) provides teachers of three- to five-year-olds knowledge and skills to build warm relationships with children, parents and co-workers; create positive and productive classroom climates; prevent challenging behavior; manage disruptive behavior and teach children new skills so they enter kindergarten ready to learn.

Pre-K SEL is designed to:

• Advance understanding of how children develop social and emotional skills.
• Present techniques for developing positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Provide tools and strategies for implementing preventive classroom practices that support development and appropriate behavior.
• Enhance knowledge and skills in order to implement social and emotional teaching strategies.
• Present methods for implementing intensive individualized interventions for those children displaying challenging behaviors.

What does Pre-K SEL offer teachers?

• FREE specialized training for 45 hours
• Training experiences that promote social-emotional skills for children ages three to five
• FREE participant manual and other materials
• A Certificate of Completion and CEUs

4. Influences on Social-Emotional Learning I
5. Influences on Social-Emotional Learning II
6. Building Positive Relationships
7. Classroom Preventive Practices I
8. Classroom Preventive Practices II
9. Classroom Preventive Practices III
10. Understanding Behavior I
11. Understanding Behavior II
12. Social-Emotional Teaching Strategies I
13. Social-Emotional Teaching Strategies II
14. Intensive Individualized Interventions I
15. Intensive Individualized Interventions II
