Arkansas Academic Standards and Beyond

The purpose of the Arkansas Academic Standards and Beyond training (formerly known as Common Core State Standards) is to help early childhood professionals: CCSS logo

  • Critically analyze the connection between the K-12 Arkansas Academic Standards and the Arkansas Child Development and Early Learning Standards: Birth through 60 Months.
  • Provide an overview of the K-12 Arkansas Academic Standards for Mathematics and English Language Arts.

Arkansas Academic Standards and Beyond includes the following four lessons:

  1. An Overview of the Arkansas Academic Standards (The What, Why and How)
  2. Arkansas Academic Standards for English Language Arts
  3. Arkansas Academic Standards for Mathematics
  4. Arkansas Academic Standards and the Future

  • 6 hours of FREE specialized training for early childhood professionals
  • Helps early childhood educators understand how to implement the Arkansas Child Development and Early Learning Standards: Birth through 60 Months into their classrooms
  • Opportunity for professional development
  • FREE participant manual and other resources
  • A Certificate of Completion and CEUs

This course is approved for Arkansas Department of Education professional development credit. However, the awarding of professional development credit, based on attendance to this course, is solely at the discretion of the local school district.
