Continuing Education Unit (CEU)
The Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education sets and maintains the child care licensing standards for Arkansas. One rule is that all early education professionals must receive a set number of training hours every year to keep their child care license. All ECEP courses meet this state requirement.
The issuance of a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is acceptable and provable credit. A CEU is a unit of credit equal to every ten (10) hours of participation time. CEUs are issued upon request to professionals for the attended portion of a course, despite completing the course or not.
